The author, who was both trainee and consultant at the hospital, manages to convey a comprehensive, moving picture in an easy style and there are a number of illustrations, some in colour. This finely presented history deserves reading by more than those with direct links with Moorfields. It offers an insight into the way many hospitals work and what it is like to work in them.
